Shirakawago is a small village that is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (cultural heritage). There are rows of private houses with a unique architectural style called Gassho-zukuri. At this time of year, you can enjoy the nostalgic village covered in snow, creating a fantastical landscape.

The three streets located in the center of Takayama City, which is lined with mansions built from the Edo period to the Meiji period, are tourist attractions that represent Hida Takayama, which is known as the "Furui Machinami (old townscape.)"
The vermilion bridge that spans the Miyagawa River that runs through the center of the city is a famous photo spot, located about a 5-minute walk from the Furui Machinami.
You can experience making the Kumihimo braids worn as bracelets and hair accessories by the main characters in the hit anime movie "Your Name".
Kumihimo is a traditional Japanese artform and craftwork for making braids and cords.
