<Comment>
I have worked as an eco tour guide/instructor (mainly for international tourists) at an outdoor sports company in Lake Kawaguchi. I have been on site as a guide, conducting tours (sea of trees, canoeing, MTB, etc.) with the motto of "fun and easy to understand." After accumulating knowledge and experience, I retired from the company in 2017 and began providing nature experience activities myself.

What is Fujiko?
Fujiko refers to a popular spiritual movement of Mt. Fuji worship that flourished among the common people from the Edo period through the early Showa period. Believing the mountain to be sacred, practitioners formed groups to climb it as a form of spiritual training. On their journey to the summit, they traditionally wore white robes (Shiroshozoku), rang bells, and carried wooden pilgrim staves (Kongo-zue).

Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine
Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, a component part of the Mt. Fuji World Heritage site, is a prestigious sanctuary with over 1,900 years of history. As you walk along the approach—lined with moss-covered stone lanterns and sheltered by towering ancient cedars—the air grows noticeably solemn. Soon, the 'Fujisan Otori' appears. As one of the largest wooden torii gates in Japan, its magnificent presence is truly breathtaking.
Umagaeshi
Located at 1,450m, Umagaeshi is a historic staging point on the Yoshida Trail, part of the Mt. Fuji World Cultural Heritage site. Its name, 'Horse Return,' marks the spot where the terrain became so rugged that pilgrims had to leave their horses behind and proceed on foot. Today, it remains a cherished landmark for those seeking the traditional route up the mountain.
