Shimoda Hydrangea Festival
Shimoda Park has the largest number of hydrangeas in Japan. At the Shimoda Hydrangea Festival, you can enjoy the sight of approximately 3 million hydrangeas blooming all over the park. More than 100 types of hydrangeas such as ”Kashiwaba hydrangea'' and "Uzu hydrangea'' bloom in a variety of colors. Enjoy taking Instagrammable photos in the fantastic 360-degree scenery surrounded by hydrangeas. From inside the park, you can see the entire cityscape of Shimoda and Shimoda Port. Enjoy the spectacular view of the collaboration of beautiful hydrangeas and the sea.
Stroll around the park during your 80 minutes of free time. We recommend participating in shoes that are easy to walk around.
Mishima Sky Walk
Mishima Skywalk is the Japan's longest suspension bridge at 400m. You can admire the stunning view of Mt. Fuji from the bridge on a clear day. On the bridge, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Japan's nature. You can enjoy spectacular views of nature such as Suruga Bay and the mountains of Izu in addition to Mt. Fuji. Taking a walk in the air while admiring the spectacular scenery is a perfect activity for early summer.
In addition, surprisingly the unique point is a bathroom! There are luxury restrooms unique to Japan that pay attention not only to comfort and convenience, but also to the interior design and scenery. The luxury restrooms, which are popular with Japanese drivers, are a must-see too.
Food & Sweets
There are shops on the north and south sides of the bridge where you can enjoy meals and sweets made with locally sourced ingredients. Don't miss out on the menu, which you can only taste here, such as sky blue soft serve ice cream, tomato seafood ramen, and handmade hot dogs.
